The º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is making the following changes to University operations for Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Instruction<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>All classes on all º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ campuses are canceled tomorrow\u2014Tuesday, Feb. 13.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Employee Schedules\/Essential Employees<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gov. McKee has announced that state offices\u2014including º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ offices\u2014will be closed on Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., due to the severe weather forecast.\u00a0<\/li><li>Essential services will continue despite the inclement weather, and <strong>essential employees should report to work on campus as scheduled<\/strong>. If you are unsure of your position designation, please consult with your supervisor.<\/li><li>Please review the state&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/rigov-policies.s3.amazonaws.com\/DOA_State_Adverse_Weather_Policy3-14-19.pdf\">Adverse Weather Policy<\/a> for more information surrounding the specifics of a closure event declaration.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Campus Operations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Campus activities<\/strong>: All campus activities are canceled.<\/li><li><strong>Dining Services<\/strong>: Butterfield Dining Hall, Main Fare at Hope Commons, Ram\u2019s Den, and Brookside Bistro will be open and will follow normal hours of operation. Other retail dining locations will be closed.<\/li><li><strong>Health Services<\/strong>: Please check the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/healthservices\/\">Health Services website<\/a> for hours of operation. If you have a medical emergency, dial 911.<\/li><li><strong>Recreation<\/strong>: Please check the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/campusrec\/\">Campus Recreation website<\/a> for hours of operation. Recreation facilities may remain closed or may follow a limited schedule.<\/li><li><strong>Shuttle and Safe Ride<\/strong>: Safe Ride will end tonight at 1 a.m. Campus shuttle and Safe Ride services are canceled Tuesday.<\/li><li><strong>Libraries<\/strong>: Campus libraries will be closed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Parking and Transportation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A full parking ban will be in effect from 10 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking is <strong>prohibited<\/strong> on any roadway or roadside parking area on the Kingston and Narragansett Bay campuses; in any commuter lot; and in any faculty\/staff lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approved parking is <strong>permitted<\/strong> in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lots 26 and 27 (Keaney and Boss) for resident permit holders only (Facilities Services requests that parking occur in the north end of the lot, closest to Mackal Field House)<\/li><li>Lot 1 (Briar Lane)<\/li><li>Lots 20 and 22 for resident permit holders only<\/li><li>Fine Arts south for faculty, staff and student permit holders<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Facilities Services asks that all state vehicles park close together on the north side of any parking lot to facilitate snow removal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need assistance on campus, please contact º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Public Safety at 401-874-4910.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A winter storm warning has been issued for the entire state of Rhode Island.
